See It In Action

PGVectorRAGIndexer is a 100% local, self-hosted document search engine. Here's what it looks like in practice — no install required to watch.

The desktop app on v2.17.1, recorded September 2026 against a synthetic document set for a fictional firm — not a shared live server, and not anyone's real files.

Multi-Format Search

Search across PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown, HTML, and plain text — all in one place.

Smart Search

Finds exact matches first. When there's no precise hit, it understands meaning — so "dog" also finds "puppy".

Document Tree & Folder-Scoped Search

Browse indexed documents in a familiar folder tree, then scope a search to just one folder — or exclude one — right from the tree.

Open the File, Not Just the Snippet

Click the path on any result and the document opens in whatever application your system uses for it — or right-click for Open with…, Show in Folder, or Copy Path. Anything you open is queued for reindexing, so after you have edited what you found, one click on Reindex Queued brings the index back in step.

100% Private

Everything runs on your machine. No cloud uploads, no accounts, no tracking. Your data stays yours.

Built for Teams

Deploy on a shared server — Windows, macOS, and Linux clients connect remotely. RBAC, audit logs, SSO, and per-user document visibility included.

License Stacking

Need 50+ users? Stack multiple Organization licenses on one server. The Admin Console shows total licensed seats and per-key status.

Queries shown in the video:

"how long do we keep client records before destroying them" "can I use my own phone for work email" "when do we have to tell a client the portal is down"

None of these share their wording with the documents that answer them. The security policy never says “my own phone” — it says “personal devices” — and the runbook never says “tell a client”, it says to send a holding message after 45 minutes. A keyword search finds neither; this finds the paragraph.
